This guy is an incompetent jerk who treats everyone like crap. This is why they should not make people partner before they actually prove themselves worthy and reach a certain age. He screams and yells for no reason and tries to intimidate people. He’s a jerk.
For the most part I agree with the comments except he’s not incompetent. I don’t understand his arrogance and superiority complex being that the guy brings in no business and is just a service partner. I guess you have to ask yourself if you are a client: if you worked for him how would he treat you? Probably like you’re dirt and a big piece of crap. He has really hurt morale here and it’s all a power trip, not because it’s deserved.
I agree, he’s a young partner who thinks he ‘s the department chair. You have to laugh at what a joke he is . While he makes most people miserable because in contrast to senior partners who don’t behave so immaturely, you have to think how pathetic he is. I would just try to get work from more senior people (even senior associates) and stay far away from him until the “I made partner” shock wears off. He’s a joke.
I couldn’t disagree more with the comments above. Johnis a young partner that is totally dedicated to the group and to his clients. He works hard to train associates and mentor us, especially in client settings. Very few other partners in our group or our firm take associates on client marketing meetings like he does. I have never heard him yell or even heard anyone talking about him yelling. I know for a fact that his clients like him a lot. I also know he is doing a lot to help former associates find jobs which shows he cares.
This partner is totally committed to helping me through my transition. He has been a friend and a good partner to work with – his door was always open and he genuinely cares about associates. He is one of the better young lawyers in the firm.
The comments made about John and Bob Reder are so unfair; they are great lawyers and good guys. Those nasty comments are obviously from some disgruntled associate because most of the associates in the group would love to work with John. He is an outstanding partner and one could learn a lot from him. And if he is tough it is because he expects the best from you.
I agree that John is a great guy. The comments made about him and Bob Reder are so unecessary and could not be further from the truth. They are really great lawyers and mentors. John is not only a good guy, but a stand-up person. These negative comments must obviously be from a disgruntled associate because I have never heard anyone say they would not want to work with John; in fact most people would love to have the chance to work with him since he is not only a great source to learn from but he is well liked. It’s so wrong to publicly blast people as good as John and Bob like this.
The Corporate department is suffering massive layoffs and good, talented associates are losing their jobs, yet Franchini is neglecting his practice {censored}. Somebody tell me that he still belongs there while hardworking associates are thrown on the street!

Young partner on a power trip. Rather work for a partner that knows what he/she’s doing.
