Try to stay away from this one! He is an absolute nightmare to work for and knows little about the law. Has no consideration for his associates whatsoever. God knows how he ever became a partner!
This man is toxic – much like the asset class he hawked across the pond. Nothing good to say about him but laughed for hours when he had his car stolen but had forgot to turn on the GPS thus nullifying his insurance claim!
Neil laid his whole goup off in January 2008 and didnt even have the curtosiy to inform his own associates himself. He made Richard Schetman and other more respectable partners do it for him. He walks around teh CWT office in pompously tight jeans and his trademark smurk (obviously, that smile now is used to masked his failures). He kept two associates, Andrew and Peter, both fantastic guys. I don’t know how they work for this coward. And yes, he is a coward. He wakes up every morning praying CWT doesnt cut his CDO lifeline. But once they do cut him, I’d definitely hire Neil to polish the floor underneath my desk. A fitting placement for someone with such decrepid character.
With all due respect DL, if you’re going to drag someone over the coals, you could learn to spell. To wit, courtesy, smirk, decrepit. Unlike Paul or Tom, you strike me as a bitter staff member.
Look at the keyboard ass*hole. “i” is next to “u”, courtesy was a typo (I had a lot to say and little time to type it – no spell check), and I DID mean “decrepid” in the urban dictionary way – http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=decrepid+man – merriam-webster’s definition is far too kind.
Btw, “Mr. Flippy” is actually “Neil Weidner” – I know you have a lot of free time over there at CWT, but you might want to spend some time groveling to the CWT bankruptcy and litigation partners to treat you like an associate rather than attacking completely accurate accounts of your personality and practice by pointing out “typos.” You’re pathetic.
I’ve tried long and hard to think of something I could say about Neil that wouldn’t be negative. I can’t but I wont go on about Neil’s personality failings or the way he treats colleagues, those of us who have spent any time with him know them all too well. (and lets face it if there is one thing Neil knows better than a CDO trading for 20 cents on the dollar it’s a good stripper and a bad cigar.)
The sad part about Neil is that he’s an emblem of our times, a time when a little hard work could make a partner and millionaire of someone so intellectually challenged on so many levels. And all the while acting like his contribution to society was the same as someone formulating a cure for cancer. I wonder if he ever once asked himself during his long participation in one of the worst financial meltdowns the world has ever known if the merrygoround he and his bros helped create was sustainable. I dont think he ever did, I doubt if he grasps the implications of what happened to this day besides the hit to his partner draw. How sad. A lot of greedy idiots helped make this mess happen, in the end Neil was just another one of them, no more and no less. So much for the eugenic superiorness he is so fond of. Neil was either blindly complicit or stupid. When you read this Neil ask yourself how many billions of dollars have been lost on the deals you did? I’ll await an answer.
Luckily for Neil and those like him, stupidity is not a crime. God they’re lucky it’s not a crime.
I have one word for Neil, KARMA
It is obvious from these comments that you are the bitter ones with too much time on your hands for anything constructive. Maybe you should take a long hard look at yourselves to determine what you could do better than to bash someone who was just working harder than you.
